Family area (and dads too I guess.)

There is a sign for a place at the mall at home and althogh it doesn’t actually say that, I kind of think that is what it means. The sign actually says Family area and then below it in smaller letters it says dads allowed. That is odd. I don’t really get why it says dads allowed underneath a sign that already says family. Aren’t dad’s considered family? Every time I go to the mall and pass that sign I think it’s weird. I wonder who decided to make the sign like that and why they did it. Odd..

Labor Day 08

J came here on Friday. I kind of asked him about my uncles at the last minute but he was able to go. My mom didnt want to drive down here so she wanted to know if he could bring me. Luckily he was able to.

On Sunday we drove to Indiana Beach. I got the directions off my iphone and we didn’t get lost. When we got there I called my mom and she said they got lost. How they got lost and we didn’t is amazing. We weren’t sure if we were going to spend the night, but we brought stuff just in case. Once we all got there we went to Indiana Beach. We rode the new roller coaster and it was super fun. My cousin wanted to go on the rollercoaster and my sister had to sit with her. We thought that it would scare her but At the end she was really happy. It was kind of funny. We wanted to go in the haunted house, but it wasn’t one of the wristband rides, it cost like $3. When we went back to the house dinner was almost ready. My mom and aunt and people had to leave a little after dinner. J and I decided to spend the night. I thought that we might get lost trying to drive back at night. After they left we went swimming with my cousin and her friend. The water wasn’t as cold as I thought it would be. After we swam we got dressed and walked around. I wish the golf cart was fixed but walking was nice. There was a dj who stayed until around one. We danced some and then walked some more. Since you could see the stars we laid on his car and looked at them. While we were laying there we saw six guys per in some bushes. It was dark out and we couldnt see anything but it was entertaing. I think if it was light out and we could actually see I would have thought it was really gross. I really want to go back there.

I don't think I could pee with an audience either.

My cat seems to have a problem. I never noticed this problem until recently. We moved his litter box in my bathroom and since then he has become shy. There are times when he will go in there when I am in there, stand next to and look at the litter box, look at me, then leave. Today this happened after I got out of the shower and I decided to try something. He walked up to it and looked at me, I turned the light off and stood in there, and he peed. I guess he really doesn’t like an audience.

Las Vegas

Friday: Everyone met at my house we went to the airport. I hate flying so when the plane felt like it dropped a million feet it kind of scared me. After that happened I felt really hot. Once we got there we checked in to our hotel. We stayed at The Venetian. It was soo nice. We had dinner at this one restaurant in our hotel and when we ordered dessert they brought it out on a plate that had happy birthday written on it and a candle in it. Afterwards we stayed in our casino and gambled some and then went to bed.

Saturday: We went down to the spa/fitness place in the morning. It was incredibly nice. They needed to see our id’s so we had to go back to our rooms and get them. After we exercised some we went in the steam room and sauna. After we were done with that we went to the pool. It was incredibly hot but luckily I didn’t really burn. My head did a little so I had to make sure to wear a hat next time. After swimming my sister and I went and took a ballet fitness class. It was really fun. There were only four people total in the class.

Sunday: We went shopping and ate at Margaritaville for lunch. It was yummy. I got a tall drink in one of those giant plastic things. I got a really cute tank top from Express. For dinner we ate at this noodle restaurant in our hotel. I had some vegetable lo mein noodle thing.

Monday: Went to the wax museum. Took lots of pictures. There was a haunted house type thing in there that was kinda neat.

Tuesday: Went to the NewYork hotel and rode the roller coaster. I had to take my glasses off so in my picture I was squinting. Then we went back to the hotel to get a car to take us to the airport. The flight back was uneventful until landing. When we landed the plane was going really fast and it was kinda not very good.

There probably were things that I can’t think of that happened but oh well… Those were some of the main fun things.

Blue Man Group

Today I went to Chicago with my mom and sister. My mom wouldn’t tell us where we were going. First we ate lunch at some Italian place. Then we didn’t have to be at the place until 3:30ish so we went to water tower. After that we drove over and once we were parking my sister figured out where we were. We were going to see Blue Man Group!! We both had never seen them and my mom saw them once. It was so awesome! I want to go see them again but sit in the very front section. It was totally equal in awesomeness to Wicked. I think I am going to see them again with J sometime hopefully. If you can see them somewhere near you and you haven’t you definately should.
🙂 🙂 🙂

Good advice

If I could offer you only one tip for the future, sunscreen would be it. The long term benefits of sunscreen have been proved by scientists whereas the rest of my advice has no basis more reliable than my own meandering experience…I will dispense this advice now.
Enjoy the power and beauty of your youth; oh nevermind; you will not understand the power and beauty of your youth until they have faded. But trust me, in 20 years you’ll look back at photos of yourself and recall in a way you can’t grasp now how much p o s s i b i l i t y lay before you and how fabulous you really looked….You’re not as fat as you imagine.
Don’t worry about the future; or worry, but know that worrying is as effective as trying to solve an algebra equation by chewing bubblegum. The real troubles in your life are apt to be things that never crossed your worried mind; the kind that blindside you at 4pm on some idle Tuesday.
Do one thing everyday that scares you
Don’t be reckless with other people’s hearts, don’t put up with people who are reckless with yours.
Don’t waste your time on jealousy; sometimes you’re ahead, sometimes you’re behind…the race is long, and in the end, it’s only with yourself.
Remember the compliments you receive, forget the insults; if you succeed in doing this, tell me how.
Keep your old love letters, throw away your old bank statements.
S t r e t c h .
Don’t feel guilty if you don’t know what you want to do with your life…the most interesting people I know didn’t know at 22 what they wanted to do with their lives, some of the most interesting 40 year olds I know still don’t.
Get plenty of calcium.
Be kind to your knees, you’ll miss them when they’re gone.
Maybe you’ll marry, maybe you won’t, maybe you’ll have children, maybe you won’t, maybe you’ll divorce at 40, maybe you’ll dance the funky chicken on your 75th wedding anniversary…what ever you do, don’t congratulate yourself too much or berate yourself either – your choices are half chance, so are everybody else’s. Enjoy your body, use it every way you can…don’t be afraid of it, or what other people think of it, it’s the greatest instrument you’ll ever own..
Dance…even if you have nowhere to do it but in your own living room.
Read the directions, even if you don’t follow them.
Do NOT read beauty magazines, they will only make you feel ugly.
Get to know your parents, you never know when they’ll be gone for good.
Be nice to your siblings; they are the best link to your past and the people most likely to stick with you in the future.
Understand that friends come and go,but for the precious few you should hold on. Work hard to bridge the gaps in geography and lifestyle because the older you get, the more you need the people you knew when you were young.
Live in New York City once, but leave before it makes you hard; live in Northern California once, but leave before it makes you soft.
Accept certain inalienable truths, prices will rise, politicians will philander, you too will get old, and when you do you’ll fantasize that when you were young prices were reasonable, politicians were noble and children respected their elders.
Respect your elders.
Don’t e x p e c t anyone else to support you. Maybe you have a trust fund, maybe you have a wealthy spouse; but you never know when either one might run out.
Don’t mess too much with your hair, or by the time you’re 40, it will look 85.
Be careful whose advice you buy, but, be patient with those who supply it. Advice is a form of nostalgia, dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it’s worth.
But trust me on the sunscreen…

Spring Break was awesome

Sunday: We had to wake up super early to go to the airport, but once we were in Florida I didn’t feel so blagh. We had lunch at this cute place and I had some really good spaghetti and S had really good pizza. We also walked on the beach to this pier that we were going to walk on but you had to pay one dollar. We thought that was stupid so we didn’t do it.
Monday: All we did was stay at the beach. We were at the beach from 10:00am to 5:00pm. It was extremely relaxing and fun. We had lunch at the hotel and then had dinner at this really good place. There was a giant crab that was wearing a shirt that said booty so we took a picture with it.
Tuesday: We stayed on the beach in the morning, but we didn’t stay there all day. We left and decided to go shopping. We found a place that you could paint your own pottery so we did that. I made a pink piggy bank with black spots and blue eyes.
Wednesday: We were going to go to miami and walk around but drama occured so we didn’t go. We ate at this place called Lulu’s. My mom, K, and S shared a drink that came in a fish bowl. There were lots of college students there and K started a mini-trend. He took the five straws that came with the fish bowl drink and connected them so they were one giant straw. He drank out of the straw and it actually worked. After he did that we noticed that there were some girls at the table next to us who tried doing it.
Thursday: We drove to south beach and that place looked like it would have been fun to go to for a few days. I bought j a shirt there and he liked it. I also got these way cute shorts. Then we drove down to key west. That took forever but I took lots of pictures on the way down there. I was happy because I got to wear my new dress all day.
Friday: We came home. All I did was wash clothes… Nothing too exciting.
Saturday: Spent the day with J. Went to the mexican place with awesome nachos. Fell asleep at his house and then went home.
Sunday: Came back to school.
